I'm a lover of historical fiction and it's an immense joy to be able to write it. And in case you were wondering about the dedication, yes. I did lie to a barista about what I was writing in an floundering attempt to flirt with him. Why was it floundering? Because I was thinking about a particular sexy scene in the book that I wanted to add, and when one is deep in thought one does not anticipate flirting with sexy baristas. And are thus surprised when he continues to chat with you. And don't know what to say when he asks if he can read it...*gulp*So you lie. And try not to blush when he hands you your iced tea.

I fell for the highlander.

Eliza was able to transport me and the heroine back to Scotland in the 1700s. I'm obsessed with the series. Roderick was so romantic and impossibly suave. The sex was as hot as the build up. And the twist at the end??? I'm hooked. You will be too.

This book started out strong, but once Aileen traveled back in time, it started to wear me out trying to read through it. I understand the book is 1 of 3, it leaves on a precipitous cliffhanger, which is fine. I expect these things when reading series. But it feels like the author didn't put much effort into the last 30 pages or so of the book (and it's a 59 page book). Nothing was attention grabbing enough to interest me in purchasing the second book of the series.
