Kindle version is atrocious

The Kindle version of this book is positively terrible across multiple platforms (Android, WP8, Desktop). The formatting is all over the place, often obliterating the columns and making all of the text run into a single massive paragraph, which renders it pretty much illegible. This doesn't happen all the time, only in specific sections. Additionally, it seems some (I'd approximate as ~15%) of the text is a scanned image, based on the fact that the font size is completely different from the rest of the book. Just overall a very disappointing and sloppy presentation, especially considering it costs just as much as the text version. This should be fixed.

Beware - printing error, missing pages, you might not notice immediately

Hey all: No question that this book is important and useful. But please beware when you buy this particular edition. The copy I received was missing pages and had duplicate pages and pages out of order etc. I did not realize it until well after the 30 day return deadline because what I needed for the first three weeks of my clerkship was within the parts that were not missing. So I only discovered the problem too late, right when I needed to read about shock and noticed all but the first page was missing, along with the next 217 pages. You don't want this to happen to you in the middle of your clerkship!

False Advertisement

This book does not have it's advertised feature -free access to iPhone/iPod, which was the main reason why I got it. The book is too bulky to fit in the white coat, so I thought it would be nice to have it on the phone. Well, why would you be lying to students?
