Revolutionary!

I would recommend this book to all educators. The insights are based on revolutionary research, not theory. To understand what to expect from this book, first you need to know that in the authors' view, not only does education in general need to be turned on its head, but all of humanity is now suffering due to that educational deficit. They believe adults should be educated as well as children on what it means to live in a world that has become utterly and completely interdependent, that new natural laws inhere under such circumstances. They make a brilliant case for this point, besides offering brilliant insights into rearing and educating the youth. Reading this book is itself transformative, and I highly recommend it.

Not for beginners

I would not recommend this book at all to anyone who does not have a strong, solid foundation in the study of Torah, and who does not have a good understanding of what Kabbalah is (the study of the concealed knowledge of Torah). As far as I remember there is only one moment in which the Creator is mentioned. He seems to treat HaShem as an after thought. This book is a dialogue between the two authors, so you will notice two "voices" being "spoken," which can be confusing at first. I would only recommend this book to those who DO have a deep understanding of Torah and who may wish to venture into some aspect in the study of Kabbalah..but definitely NOT for those just starting..they present some interesting ideas, but do not explain how these ideals relate to the Torah approach to life...sayings from other Jewish texts are mentioned but they are not referenced/cited (you see how a beginner can miss that and think it's coming from these two?) If you are advanced, buy it, dabble in it, if not, keep looking..I would suggest getting "The Art of Education" by Rav Ginsburgh if you are interested in a Torah and Kabbalistic approach to teaching children, but not this book...
