In Mind Your Own Business, by Lutishia Lovely, the Livingston men have gathered at the home of Ace Livingston to discuss the latest family dilemma. With a list of suspects, the men, with the assistance of Sterling Ross, a prominent detective, devise a plan to catch the person who attempted to destroy their family.

The family decides to steer their focus away from the criminal case to the opening of their new restaurant, Taste of Soul, on the west coast. Bianca Livingston, who recently returned from Europe, wants to prove that she is ready to run the family business; while her brother, Jefferson, believes that it is time for him to get from behind the desk and take on a new challenge. Bianca and Jefferson present very persuasive proposals for the position to the board of directors but they both have ulterior motives for wanting to move to the west coast that create even bigger problems for the family.

Lovely gives her readers a mouth-dropping, laughing, Oh-My-Goodness story. I found myself eagerly turning each page to see what would happen next. Just when I thought it was over, the story twisted and turned again to make my eyebrows rise. You may need to keep a list of all the twists and turns in the story. Fans of Lovely's Hallelujah series will soak up the second offering of this series with this new family. I cannot wait to see what will happen next.

This is the second installment of the Livingston family saga. Up In My Business was the first book-- Read IT First- This book continues where the other left off with a lot of drama and shady people. Rich powerful and a little mafia-like mentality. Chardonnay is playing with fire!! Tell me why here mother named her for wine, and she named her three children after alcoholic beverages as well. I guess the apple falls under the tree, so to speak.- really ghetto!! Candace needs an a$$ whipping for getting the family in the mess over 10 inches (If you catch my drift). Q and his sister Keisha are greedy and Q is crazy personified! Shayla is bourgeois trashy, Cooper Jr. is just ignorant, His mother is snooty and should watch her husband's activities, The Honorable Judge Cooper Riley Sr.!! Toussaint is just plain fine, Jefferson and Bianca need to get a backbone and Xavier sounds like a total turn-on. Love a little French. Ace and Abram need to tell their wife's to not kiss and tell, especially the harlot Candace. Lots of fast paced and devious drama, a pager turner. I read it in one day.. Can't wait to read the third installment. Whew!!!

Keep your highlighter handy...

This book is an easy educational read, providing parents with different options to handle financial decisions when raising their children. Keep your highlighter handy because you will want to use this book as a reference book. Use your highlighter to mark ideas along with websites so you can refer to them easily. (Probably all this book is missing is a quick resource listing all the websites in one place.)

One of my favorite chapters was "A Kid's Eye View of Money" which gives a glimpse of how children think. Devoting an entire chapter to this subject might surprise parent's, get our attention, and make us think twice. (I consider my children above average when it comes to their financial education but one day, one surprised me when she said, "Mom, the banks don't USE our money...") In this chapter, Janet Bodnar highlights many other examples where children's view of personal finance may need just a little more clarification from adults.

Some chapters are distinguished by age, but I recommend parents be sure to read all chapters. Many ideas are applicable to children of all ages. So, don't skip chapters thinking, "My child is older so I don't need to read that." You do and will be glad you did.

There is hardly a dull moment because topics are presented with both humorous examples and letters the author received from both parents and children. Readers will likely relate to more than one of these tales with a, "Been there, my child's done that..." and, "Oh yeah, we still have to address that..." attitude. This book provides issues for parents to think about along with many choices for solutions. It should be part of every family's home library.

Everyone's a winner

This book pulls no punches when it analyses the UK's pop industry. The references may be lost in the US but if you can locate someone who lived in the UK in the late 80's, they can fill in the blanks.
The writing style is compulsive and the book is hard to put down. I have every confidence that ,if you have the courage to follow this book , you will get to number one. The authors have got to number one on two occasions and had a nummber of near misses.
This books looks at ways to "produce" your number one, manipulate the charts but misses out how to make a great video.
For anyone who wants to have a number one in the UK this is a must.

There's no business

These guys are what we should all aspire to be. They've burnt one million pounds, walked to the north pole to sacrifice a tiny picture of Elvis, worked with norwegian comics' grand old man Øystein Runde sr, nailed 100 000 pounds to a piece of wood and sold it for 50 000 pounds, and now they're going to sell you the ticket to one-hit-wonderland. A pop hit is guaranteed if you follow their instructions. Really. Guaranteed.

Five Fantastic Stars!!

Without Peace by C.M. Hutton is the third book in the London Brothers Series. Kyle's story was one I was super excited to read. I absolutely loved the other C.M. Hutton books,so I knew this one would also be excellent. Let me tell you this, I was not disappointed. C.M. Hutton has done it yet again in Without Peace.
Kyle and wait, I can't give that away. You will have to read to find out if and to whom Kyle has found a connection with. Living in the spotlight of all his brothers finding the loves of their lives and settling down with kids, Kyle wants no part what so ever to any of this. He has his reputation and is known to entertain more than one woman in a given week. Can Kyle settle down and find someone? Or will he keep being a bachelor and living it up with the ladies?
This is one book you do not want to miss! I absolutely LOVE the entire London Brothers Series!! I highly recommend each and every book in this series. Five stars!!!

Beyond 5 Stars . . . You'll feel a lot of emotions with this one.

I wasn't for sure where this story was going to go, not going into details about story, etc., but boy did it make you stop to breathe deeply and you felt the ache/pain, etc. It's an emotional book, but Kyle wowed me. Unable to put this book down and read it one sitting. A HUGH fan of CM Hutton. Got a surprise at the end w/ there being a novella of Kyle and Tina coming.

Love In The Raw

I finished reading this book today and I will compare this to a Shakespearen tragedy but with a 21st century outcome. CM Hutton has excelled more each time she writes another book. This book is a LOVE story and CM captures the love a man has for a woman like no other. Granted, you have to keep in perspective that this is a fellow who has found love after years of an adventerous sexual lifestyle. So, it is expected that he might be smitten a tad too much. However, CM shares another reality and she does it very well. Blame it on the crazy socks this woman wears and posts on Facebook. But in all honesty, CM captured the soul of the book. I cannot wait to read the novella as I am already starved for more! And did I mention that CM Hutton is a very personable woman. Check her out on FB. xoxo

Kim Jones is a writer with big dreams and a creative imagination. Her infatuation with the MC lifestyle inspired her to write a short story about a love affair between a prestigious young woman and a bad-ass biker. After falling in love with her characters, she turned the ten-thousand word short story into a novel. Juggling her writing and her role as ol’ lady to her husband, Reggie, her first novel, Saving Dallas, was published in May of 2013. Saving Dallas Making the Cut, the sequel to Saving Dallas, was published in September 2013 and she plans to release Saving Dallas Forever, the final book in the Saving Dallas trilogy, in February 2014. Kim resides in Collins, MS with her husband Reggie, two dogs Neo and Maggie and a twenty pound cat named Cici.

Dallas & Luke

Luke dropped in my eyes in this book - running his MC like a good old boys club where the women need to look nice but keep their mouths shut, and then turning something that should be a sexual kink into abuse. Sorry, that is my opinion. This is Dallas, the CEO, the professional powerhouse who has survived so much & yet again, she is in danger. And she willingly puts herself there knowing that she might not make it out! Dallas says of Luke, "I couldn't imagine the willpower it took for him to let me do this." WTH? YOU are the one in danger & being tortured NOT Luke!! Even though she was just captured by mobster Charlie in the last book, she flies to his side to request his help. Charlie has a soft spot for Dallas & won't really hurt her, or will he? This book was just crazy & Dallas fell right in line with the other old ladies in the MC & it didn't make any sense - her powerful personality just disappeared. I should have not finished this book - pretty early on there is a scene when Luke is furious that Dallas went directly to Charlie without his knowledge, without his permission probably. What Dallas referred to as a "spanking" and what the other old ladies laughed & joked about, was not funny in the least. The only thing that would have rectified the horror that Luke put her through was if Dallas ran from him & never looked back. Wow, can't tell you how disappointed I am that this book bothered me so much!!

Potentially Excellent Book Marred by Domestic Violence

This is the third book in the Saving Dallas forever series. I loved 80% of the book but there were a few areas where I distinctly disliked it. So there are sections of this book where Luke is to die for; their love and passion for each other is so intense and hot and steamy and the romance and love between them is just as passionate as ever. SPOILER ALERT However, there is a section of the book where Luke beats Dallas with a belt because he is upset with something she did. Now, I did understand him being upset but to me NOTHING excuses his beating her with a belt. First, her tolerance of this behavior seemed so out of character for her - where was spunky Dallas with a backbone? She gets upset with him about it for about a day but then she actually rationalizes his behavior. This was so upsetting to me I almost stopped reading the book, in fact, I had to put it down and leave it alone for a day. First, the author tries to minimize Luke's behavior by calling it a spanking - 1) Dallas isn't a child, she's an adult. When adults have disagreements and conflict, we use WORDS, not hands or belts; 2) it wasn't a spanking - the bruises he left on her means he BEAT her - if either one of them had done this to a child, child protective services would have been involved; in some but not all states, this behavior would constitute assault. At one point, she says she would never be submissive to Luke - what is tolerating a beating; playing house? I was so disappointed in the way this episode played out in the book. Yes, Luke was sorry, but they both basically rationalize and justify his behavior and even joke about it later. At one point Luke says he is not a man who would put his hands on a woman - but a belt is OK? Not using your hands makes it better, less abusive? This is the type of thing that makes people think physical abuse is OK, by minimizing its effect, calling it other names like spanking rather than what it is: A BEATING. After a day, I was able to move on and pick up the book, but to be honest, this scene spoiled the rest of the book for me and I found that it was hard for me to get into after that.

For all those who think I'm overreacting, go volunteer to work in a woman's shelter and see how many of these women's stories are sadly very similar to Dallas'; these women also loved their partners, they also used euphemisms to describe their abuse and they too thought at some point that the beatings were justified or acts of love.

Life in an MC is not always pretty...conflicted on my feelings about this one...

Ok...what to do what to say...I'm so conflicted! First let me say that I loved the first two books in the series and I think Kim Jones is a terrific writer and can spin an awesome tale, no doubt about that! My feelings are torn because of a particular scene in the book (which has already been spoiled in other reviews) and when I got to that point "I" was almost in tears with Dallas and for Dallas and became so enraged that the action went in the direction it did.
The book did start off with a bang...Dallas is being held captive in a hotel room by some masked men and then is subjected to the kind of torture you read about in military situations. We are left wondering WTH is going on and then the story takes you back to explain how she got to be in that position.
What I really DID like a lot about the book was how Dallas tried to fit in and figure out how to be the Prez's ole lady...the rules, the protocols, the politics...and when she gets it wrong it's almost funny and when she gets it right things really turned around for her.
The big issue in this story is trying to figure out if Dallas is now safe after all the Frankie drama or if someone is still contracted to kill her...and this becomes the main focus of the book alongside some club business which deals with disrespect and crossing territorial lines by another club.
For the most part I really liked this book (the sisterhood Dallas forms with Maddie and the other old ladies was fun and there was plenty of sexy time as well) but the torture scene in the prologue and another vicious and abusive chapter left me reeling and upset...not to the point of not reading the rest of the book, more to the point of cringing and tearing up.
If you read and loved the first two in the series you will definitely want to read this one to see how it all ends but be forwarned...it is not always pretty and the life in an MC is portrayed with grit and no holds barred honesty.

Le sigh

I read this when it was only a short story so I can't even tell you how excited I was to see it play out in a full length book! I really don't feel like I can do this book justice through my review so all I'm going to say is READ IT! If you like Harper's work then you will fully appreciate this novel. It's definitely more romantic than a lot of her earlier work but she makes up for (I'm not a chick-lit fan) by making her characters fully realized and believable. These are people I could know in my every day life!

Finishing, I felt happy and sad. I'm always sad after I finish a book I really enjoy because I know I'm not going to get to peer into the characters' lives anymore. However, Harper always leaves me feeling satisfied *wink wink* and I wouldn't hesitate to pick up any of her books without even reading the synopsis because I know it's going to be that good.

Highly recommended for romance/chick-lit fans and f/f erotica fans.

Solid writing, a great story, and a powerful love story!

I am a fan of Harper Bliss' writing and her many published works. That's why I jumped at this offer to write an honest review in exchange for a copy of her latest novel. I was hooked by the second page, but because I could only read a little at a time due to other commitments, my interest peaked and flowed, and I wanted to like this book more than I did. The characters, Jodie and Leigh, are certainly likable enough. The book begins with their heartbreaking separation, and the reader is led through their good moments and bad, and through the differences between them that wouldn't allow their relationship to survive. We want them to get back together, and read as jealous lovers as they find others to fill the gap. Will they eventually find their way back to each other? I'll leave that for those who haven't read the book to find out on their own, and this book IS worth the read. The steamy factor is high on this one but be forewarned - the scenes are quite kinky. All in all, another good book from this author and an enjoyable read that I would recommend.

Heart and heat

This was a well written story with compelling characters. It was unusual in that Jodie and Leigh end their relationship in the very beginning pages of the book, but each clearly remains in the other's heart for the years they are apart, the missing piece that would make each of them whole. While the reasons that they remain apart are at times frustrating for the reader who knows how miserable they both are, they are believable and probably reasons each of us have experienced ourselves or through the experience of a close friend. The emotion in this book was very real and heartfelt, which gave the somewhat surprisingly erotic sex scenes a genuineness, even tenderness, that was unexpected.
